An excellent opportunity has arisen at Durham city golf club, for a Deputy Head Greenkeeper to join a well-established team. The club is seeking to add to its current skilled and qualified team due to our Deputy Head greenkeeper being promoted to head greenkeeper.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who is able to work on their own or as part of a team to undertake all aspects of golf course maintenance.

Reporting to the Head Greenkeeper this is a hands-on full-time position with weekend overtime required on a rota basis.

Previous experience as a greenkeeper is essential.

Key responsibilities:
Must take pride in their work, have a good eye for detail and work well under pressure be a highly motivated individual, have a keen passion for greenkeeping with a productive work ethic.
Daily maintenance carried out to the highest standard.
Effective communication with colleagues, management and members.
Good time management, flexible approach to working hours and weekend duties.
An understanding of machinery operation and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have:
• NVQ level 2 or above in sports turf
• A competitive salary in line with experience and CGCS guidelines

It would be desirable but not essential to have the following
• PA1,2 and PA6 spraying certificates
• Chainsaw certificates
• First Aid
• An interest in playing golf.
